Dolphin Web Browser App Reviews

Unfortunatelly, it does not have full compatibility with PDFs (i.e. I cant export it to iBooks, which is possible in Safari). All the other components are better than Safari.

Took a quick second to get used to but it just runs more efficiently in your hand than most other browsers. Would recommend!

Last update had some issues. They listened and fixed every single one in this update !! 6/25. in todays update they fixed the big dolphin annoyance created by previous update. thank you.

Dolphin is hands down the best browser for iOS. I love the way new pages are loaded in tabs that are easily accessible. The themes are also a nice touch. But my favorite feature is being able to draw an image with your finger that represents a website, and Dolphin immediately takes you to that website. For instance, if you press the Dolphin button at the bottom of the screen, then draw a G, Dolphin will take you to Google. You can also make your own drawings that represent websites you frequently visit. And you can add those websites to your homepage. The only thing I dont care for is when I swipe up, but with a curve to the left, Dolphin assumes I want to go back a page. So its like hitting the Back button. It also does this is you swipe with a right angle. It will assume you want to go forward a page. I dont like this at all! But as of the new version, it doesnt seem to do this anymore. Or maybe its less sensitive. Itd be a useful feature if you did a long swipe to the left or right, but short swipes should not count. Again, this no longer appears to be a problem, so I thank the Dolphin programmers for fixing that annoyance! All in all, Dolphin is fast, easy to use, and stable (Ive only had it crash once in two years, and that was because the page I visited had tons of pop ups that made dozens of tabs and exceeded what Dolphin could handle). Safari isnt a bad browser at all, but Dolphin is superior in every way. If youve never use Dolphin, give it a try. You wont be disappointed. Ive used it ever since it came out.

My Java bookmarklets to increase font size stop working with this new update. Previously: I wished Dolphin had an "X-large" option for font size. The current "large" option is not large enough for "X-old" people... Alternatively, it may be easier to just keep the "Large" option, with an increased font size, instead of creating a new "X-Large" option. Thank you.

Really great and effective browser thats quick too

Cant use it without it crashing with multiple tabs open.

Browser modifies HTTPS URLs before sending them to the server. This is a terrible, negligent practice. Do not trust them! Since they are checking the URLs you type, notice they cram ads and speed dial spam as well. For more than a week around thanksgiving, they forced a full screen dancing ad on launch. Do they snoop your urls for ads too?

Some stability issues but overall good

Must recent update (10.0) rendered Facebook virtually unusable. If I want to write a comment longer than one line, I need to use another browser. I will refrain from itemizing every problem, but it feels as if this version was released without beta testing. Very disappointed. Hope to see this sorted out soon.

Great alternative to Safari and Chrome

Its fast, intuitive, no fuss. Also check out Dolphin Zero for even more privacy.
